FIFA Reply With PSSI's Letter, Strengthen SUGBK It Can't Be USED For Concerts

PSSI has sent a letter to FIFA regarding the use of the 2023 U-20 World Cup venue, especially the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium. In the letter, PSSI asked FIFA's directions whether SUGBK and other stadiums could be used for activities outside of football.

On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, FIFA replied to the letter. The world-wide football parent emphasized that the U-20 World Cup stadium should not be used for activities unrelated to football.

This decision was taken after consulting with FIFA field management.

"Constructing two concerts with several days of preparation and dismantling activities on the playing field, of course, this will make the field a'stress' that will prevent us from implementing the field management program as planned," reads the reply letter from FIFA announced by PSSI on their official website.

"Given the significant investment the government has approved to spend on providing high-quality football fields, it will be contradictory to letting this event take place as close as possible to the tournament," the letter continued.

In a letter signed by Mens Tournament Manager Christian Schmolzer, FIFA then asked PSSI to convey this input to the stadium manager, especially SUGBK.

As is known, there are two music concert activities that are planned to be held at SUGBK ahead of the U-20 World Cup. The concert is a Blackpink performance which is scheduled to be held 11-12 March 2023 and Raisa's concert is scheduled to appear on February 25, 2023.
