Bruno Fernandes About The Termination Of Cristiano Ronaldo's Contract At MU: There's Always A Big Commotion, But We Respect The Decision

JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo officially separated from Manchester United (MU). Both parties agreed to end the collaboration after Ronaldo's controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

Portugal's national team player who is also a Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, is well aware that this could affect Ronaldo. He considered that former Real Madrid and Juventus players could be worried at certain times.

However, Fernandes believes that Ronaldo will still focus on helping the Portugal national team excel at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The reason is, the World Cup is very meaningful for Ronaldo, who previously won the Euro 2016 title.

"We know what the World Cup means for him. He called the 2016 European Championship an extraordinary achievement for him, and I believe his focus is always on this tournament," Fernandes said, as reported by The Sun.

"With Cristiano so famous, there's always a big fuss about what's going on," he continued.

Fernandes then admitted that he did not feel uncomfortable after Ronaldo was kicked out of MU. He also did not feel like he had to choose who to side with.

According to him, it is a privilege to play with Ronaldo at the same club. "This is a dream and I always say that," said Fernandes.

"Cristiano has always been an inspiration for me. It was a dream come true to be able to play with him. Cristiano made different decisions for his life, career and we have to respect that decision. Every decision must be respected."

"As a player but also as a parent and brother, we know it may be difficult to make some decisions but this decision must be for the health of ourselves and our families," he continued.

Fernandes himself admitted that he had not spoken to Ronaldo regarding the termination of cooperation with MU. He said the entire team is currently focusing on the 2022 World Cup.

"He hasn't talked about it with me yet. That's his decision, a problem related to him and his family. We all focus on the national team, at the World Cup, you all realize that, how important it is to play for the national team for all of us," he concluded.
