Harry Kane Is Certain Not To Wear The Ban Of The Rainbow Captain Support LGBT At The 2022 World Cup Qatar

JAKARTA The captain of the England national team Harry Kane will certainly not use the rainbow captain's armband for the campaign to support the LGBT group during Qatar's 2022 World Cup.

The Tottenham Hotspur player plans to wear rainbow tires when they face Iran in the first match of Group B at the Khalifa Stadium, Monday, November 21 tonight.

Apart from Kane, the other team captain, including Gareth Bale of Wales, also initially had the same plans to promote diversity and inclusion. However, the plan has recently been canceled following the threat of sanctions.

"We are deeply frustrated by FIFA's decision, which we believe is unprecedented," read a British statement with six other football associations quoted by BBC Sport, Monday, November 21, 2022.

In September, England and Wales along with Belgium, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland wrote a letter to FIFA to inform about the captain's armband "One Love", but the letter did not receive a response.

"FIFA will very clearly impose a sports sanction if our captain wears armbands on the pitch," the statement added.

"We are ready to pay fines that usually apply to violation of kit regulations and have a strong commitment to wearing the captain's armband.

"However, we cannot put our players in a situation where they may be sanctioned, or even forced to leave the field of play," the statement concluded.

However, German captain Manuel Neuer insisted he would continue to wear the rainbow captain's armband. Bayern Munich's flagship goalkeeper has reportedly remained consistent in his attitude.

If you still dare to wear the rainbow captain's armband, Neuer has the potential to receive sanctions from FIFA. Sanctions in the form of fines are likely to continue to grow if he wears the captain's armband more than one game.
