Makes It Great! FIFA's Head Of Media, Bryan Swanson Announces He's Gay During A Press Conference In Qatar

FIFA official, Bryan Swanson made a confession during a press conference in Qatar ahead of the 2022 World Cup. The FIFA media chief opened up about his sexual orientation and claimed to be gay.

Quoted from Marca, Sunday, Swanson conveyed this in a press conference with FIFA President, Gianni Infantino.

Infantino before this did provide a strong defense against Qatar as the host of the 2022 World Cup which was later criticized for human rights and homosexuality.

Bryan is no less vocal, he also continues to defend FIFA regarding the matter and is more furious than Infantino's defense. However, at the end of the event, Swanson admitted that he was gay.

However, in the description made, he said his sexual orientation was never a problem. He was accepted and received support from colleagues in his work.

"I have spent some time working with Infantino (Gianni) and I always feel supported and helped, I am gay like many other colleagues at FIFA and I always feel supported," he said at a press conference quoted by Marca, Sunday, November 20.

Bryan's horrendous statement was quite stealing attention, because he revealed it in Qatar. The Muslim country has become one of the countries that is against sexual orientation like Bryan.

Nevertheless, Bryan acknowledged that his presence in Qatar was still well received and supported. Even Infantino, the boss who has a different orientation with him still cares about Bryan.

"I sit here in a special position on the global stage as a gay man in Qatar," Bryan continued.

"Just because Gianni Infantino is not gay, it doesn't mean he doesn't care. He cares," he explained.

Before officially joining FIFA, Swanson was a Scottish journalist and had worked with the SkySports news agency for years.
