JAKARTA - The general meeting of shareholders (GMS) of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) appointed Ferry Paulus as the new president director. He replaced Akhmad Hadian Lukita who was dragged into the case of the Malang ArROW Tragedy.

After the GMS, Ferry admitted that he was asked to bring PT LIB into a new dimension towards transformation. He called this a tough task after football was hit by a tragedy that killed 135 people.

There were a number of interesting statements made by Ferry Paulus after being appointed as President Director of PT LIB. One of them is his term of office.

The man who previously served as Director of Sports at Persija Jakarta said he was only willing to occupy the position in the next two or three months.

"To be honest, I'm busy a lot outside of football. Shareholders have agreed," said Ferry, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 16.

"I only delivered the LIB in a vacancy because the president director was unable to attend," he continued.

He then admitted that he would focus on increasing company revenue. According to him, as a corporation, PT LIB certainly wants to get good profitability and increase revenue.

"If it doesn't improve, how do you reduce costs," he said.

He revealed that PT LIB was now experiencing financial difficulties when the Indonesian League competition was temporarily suspended. This makes the company's balance sheet unbalanced.

Ferry then revealed the possibility of when the competition will be held again. He considered that the most realistic Indonesian League would start again on December 2.

"There will be a licensing application process and in the next few days there may be a development," he said.

He added that PT LIB and shareholders wanted the competition format to stay home and away. However, his party will follow the decision of the stakeholders.
