JAKARTA - The President of the World Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, attended the national head's lunch and delegation of the G20 Summit in Bamboo Dome, The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Nusa Dua, Bali, Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

On this occasion, Infantino had the opportunity to speak from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). This moment was not wasted by the Swiss citizen with Italian blood by calling for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine during the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Infantino emphasized that FIFA realizes football is not the solution to every world problem, but he hopes that the 2022 World Cup, which will be watched by five billion people in the world, can continue the peace message.

"Perhaps, with the World Cup starting in five days it can be a positive trigger. I hope all of you are willing to make a ceasefire for one month, during this World Cup," Infantino said in front of the leaders of the country and delegates of the G20 Summit, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 15.

Infantino added that if the ceasefire could not be reached, at least there would be efforts to ensure that humanitarian aid corridors were guaranteed or the resumption of the peace dialogue.

"You are all world leaders who can influence the course of history, football and the World Cup giving you and the world a unique platform about unity," he said.

"Let's take advantage of this opportunity to exert everything in its power to end all existing complaints," said Infantino.

Infantino also invited the leaders of the G20 countries and delegates from the G20 Summit to attend directly in Qatar, which in the next five days will start the 2022 World Cup.

Responding to Infantino, President Jokowi reminded that football and sports are generally not just activities to maintain health because they can also spark joy.

"Sports are very important for our lives. Through sports, not only do we become healthier, but also become happier," said Jokowi.

President Jokowi had given the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach the opportunity to speak at the lunch session. Bach called for an important role in sports, particularly the Olympics, in bridging peace
