Elkan Baggott Bring Gillingham To The Fourth Round Of The Carabao Cup For The First Time In 26 Years

JAKARTA - Elkan Baggott successfully helped Gillingham FC towards the fourth round of the English League Cup (Carabao Cup) for the first time in 26 years after beating Brentford.

Gillingham won 6-5 on penalties over the English Premier League team after a 1-1 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium, Wednesday, November 9 in the morning WIB, lasted until normal time ended.

The only Brentford player who failed to convert a penalty to a goal was Mikkel Damsgaard. Gillingham went through the third half after experiencing great pressure at the start of the match.

Baggott and his friends fell behind Ivan Toney's quick goal when the game had only been running for three minutes. Gillingham then equalized in the 75th minute after Mikael Mandron maximized AlexanderAKhir's pass.

This victory made Baggott the first Indonesian player to successfully bring his team through to the last 16 of the English League Cup. However, his journey is likely to be a tough test in that round.

The reason is, he and his friends have the opportunity to face opponents who are much tougher than the Premier League such as Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Leicester City, West Ham, and Bournemouth.

Currently Leicester City and Bournemouth have confirmed themselves to qualify for the round of 16. City, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal will fight for tickets in Thursday's match.
