JAKARTA - Adidas will launch a special edition shoe for Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young next year.

This was expressed by Young in Rachel Nichols' The Jump podcast which was broadcast on the ESPN network on Thursday WIB.

The Young edition shoes are planned to be launched on the market in the fall of 2021, or mid-September.

Young will thus become the fifth active NBA basketball player to own a special edition shoe after Utah Jazz stars Donovan Mitchell, Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), James Harden (Houston Rockets) and Derrick Rose (Detroit Pistons).

Young is a basketball player chosen by the Hawks as a fifth-placed recruit in the 2018 NBA Draft.

In his debut season, Young competed for the 2019 NBA Best Debut Player title, which was eventually won by Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.

Last season, Young again performed brilliantly and posted an average contribution of 29.6 points, 9.3 assists and 36 percent shooting accuracy, which made him selected for the 2019/20 NBA All-Star team.

Unfortunately, Young's brilliant performances were not enough to help the Hawks get into the playoffs after last appearing in the first round in 2017
