JAKARTA Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr wants supporters found guilty of racism against players to be banned for life watching directly to the stadium.

The 22-year-old Brazilian national team player was one of the victims of racism last September from Atletico Madrid fans. The harassment was carried out outside the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium ahead of their match against city rivals Real Madrid.

"If you hurt someone else, you have to pay for it," Vinicius told Brazilian TV Globo on Sunday as reported by Reuters.

In the video clip circulating, it can be heard that the Atletico fans equate Vinicius with monkeys. In addition to words, there is also one Atletico Madrid fan who acts more recklessly.

The action was to lift a black doll that ate a white shirt with a Real Madrid blue scarf in the crowd. This action drew criticism from Atletico and La Liga.

In a statement, Atletico said they were working with the authorities to identify the perpetrators who would be banned by the club. The Madrid Prosecutor's Office is also investigating the case.

"It's hard to say that [racism in football] is going to end because so many people are still doing it. But I like to believe that there are more good people than bad ones," Vinicius said.

"Everyone racist has to pay in some way. If they like watching football, then Atletico Madrid fans can no longer set foot in stadiums.

"That will make them suffer, such consequences, and reflect on their actions," he added.
