JAKARTA - Alvaro Bautista, who is a racer from the Aruba.it Racing Ducati team, won the 2022 Argentine World Superbike (WSBK) Race 1 at the San Juan Vilicum Circuit, Saturday (22/10) local time (Sunday WIB).

Quoted from Antara, the Spaniard finished fastest followed by Kawasaki Racing Team rider Jonathan Rea in second place and Motocorsa Racing Ducati rider Axel Bassani in third.

Pata Yamaha WorldSBK rider Toprak Razgatlioglu fell on the opening lap and was ultimately only able to finish 15th. That way, Bautista is getting stronger at the top of the standings with an 80-point advantage.

Bautista himself was ranked third in qualifying sessions. Meanwhile Toprak was at the forefront of qualifying, but was only able to add one point in this race after he fell on the opening lap at the ninth corner.

Argentina's Race 1 WSBK results did not change much in the standings ahead of the next two races (Superpole Race and Race 2) on Sunday local time.

Bautista is now top of the standings with 473 points, followed by Toprak with 393 points and Rea with 386 points in the drivers' standings.

Bautista's victory further emphasized the chances of the former MotoGP racer becoming the 2022 WSBK champion. However, there is still one other racing session and two series remaining, including in Mandalika, which will determine the steps to the podium.
