Anderson Silva revealed the details of the exciting conversation he had with boxer Canelo Alvarez about his upcoming fight against Jake Paul.

Silva is one of the UFC's flagship fighters and the Brazilian will face YouTuber Jake Paul in Arizona in about three weeks.

Mexican boxing star Canelo decided to share some advice with Silva, given that he will switch discipline to one event. Silva revealed how the chat took place on the 'Full Send' podcast.

"I received a call from Canelo and he said 'go ahead, I know you respect boxing,' and that's what I need to do; prove my respect for boxing," Silva said.

"Boxing is very interesting because - without compromising other sports - in boxing, many people die to make this sport big.

"Many people lose everything to make this sport big and I can't get into this sport if I don't do my best.

"I need to show respect for boxing, it's not about bringing down Jake Paul or bringing down other opponents, it just goes inside and proves your respect for boxing."

Silva and Canelo were old acquaintances, even they first met as he prepared for his fight with Chavez Jr in Mexico last year.

The Brazilian said he was surprised to meet the Mexican and it was an extraordinary experience for him.

"He told me to keep doing my best, to keep working because I did something very special; he didn't give me advice, but he gave me gloves and I said 'ow, I have Canelo's gloves. That's amazing," Silva said.

The fight between Jake Paul and Anderson Silva will take place on Saturday, October 29, in Arizona, at the Gila River Arena in Glendale.
