JAKARTA - The management of the Semen Padang Football Club (SPFC) has asked for confirmation of the continuation of the 2022 Liga 2 competition which is currently stopped due to an incident that resulted in hundreds of people dying at the Malang Kanjuruhan Stadium on Saturday, October 1.

Semen Padang CEO FC Win Bernadino in Padang, Tuesday, said the certainty of the competition schedule to start again is certainly very important so that the ranks of coaches can prepare the team in the future.

So far, he continued, the official letter that came in was that the competition was stopped for two weeks and now it's only been one week but the certainty of the schedule for when the league will roll out again is certainly important for the team.

"I think it's not only Semen Padang, but for all teams in the Indonesian League, the certainty of this schedule is very important considering this is related to the team's preparation," he said.

He said that currently the Semen Padang FC team is still conducting routine exercises under the direction of head coach Defiadri and assistant coach. Although there is no information yet, Semen Padang FC still trains to maintain the condition of the players to stay top and good in the face of competition.

"We are still waiting for further directions from the Liga operator, namely PT LIB, who is still waiting for government instructions regarding national football competitions," he said.

Meanwhile, the Semen Padang Football Club (SPFC) team resumed training on Monday afternoon after undergoing a holiday after the postponement of the match against PSKC Cimahi.

Semen Padang coach FC Delfiadri said that starting this afternoon all teams had returned to training at Mes Semen Padang Field in the Indarung area.

"We have been on holiday three days ago and returned to training together to restore the condition of the players," he said.

In addition, Semen Padang will train together with the West Sumatra League 3 team Kompak FC at the Haji Agus Stadium, Salim Padang.

According to him, the trial match aims to keep the condition of the players who are currently in the competition period and suddenly stop, of course, it will have an impact on the condition of the team.

"We want to try players who don't get playing minutes in the game to have minutes to play so that the quality of the core and reserve players is not too far away," he said.
