JAKARTA - A total of 28 athletes have been summoned to attend the national training camp (pelatnas) to the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games which has started since last September. There are two athletes who are still absent.

The two athletes are Emilia Nova (run goal) and Attina Nur Kamila Intan (throwing javelin. Emilia Nova is reportedly still injured.

"We invited 28 athletes, but two athletes could not attend for certain reasons," said Deputy Chairperson of the PB PASI Development and Achievement Division, Rumini, as quoted from Antara, Thursday, October 6.

He later stated that Emilia Nova remained at the national training even though she was injured. "However, due to injury, you must continue to receive treatment," he said.

The Athletic training center for the 2023 SEA Games is divided into three regions, namely Jakarta, Bandung and Pangalengan.

However, there are also those sent to Jamaica. There are ten athletes, three coaches and two supporters who will take part in the training camp there until next November.

Among them are Lalu M. Zohri, Bayu Kertanegara, Sudirman Hadi, Wahyu Setiawan, Eko Rimbawan, Adith Rico Pradana, Sapwaturrahman, Kris Dianto M, Vincensia Awet A, Lusinta P. Burumi.

Later there will be a relegation promotional system. Athletes will be evaluated every three months.

PASI's decision to hold national training faster cannot be separated from the results of the last Hanoi SEA Games. At that time, athletics were only able to contribute two gold, five silver and four bronze to Indonesia.

Rumini admits that it has become a slump in Indonesian athletics. However, he did not want to blame the athletes.

He said the preparation for the Hanoi SEA Games was quite short. "The Atlet was lapangil pelatnas in February and the Vietnam SEA Games took place in May," he explained.

The PASI official emphasized that athletic training should be carried out in the long term in order to get maximum results. Not just one or two months.
