The Malaysian Government Ready To Help Indonesia Regarding The Impact Tragedy

JAKARTA - The incident at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang on Saturday night received the attention of the Malaysian government. In addition to expressing his condolences, the Ministry of Ministers of Religion and Sukan (young and Sports) of Malaysia also stated that they were ready to provide any assistance.

The statement was made by the Minister of Datok Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and was specifically addressed to the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora). The offer was made by Datok Seri Ahmad because for him Indonesia is not just a neighboring country but also like brothers who help each other in difficult times.

In addition, Datok Seri Ahmad also hopes that the gripping incident in the world of sports, especially football, will not happen again. He said, the tragedy of the Kanjuruhan Stadium is quite an important lesson for many parties so that there is no similar news anywhere.

"Hopefully this incident will serve as a reminder and a lesson for all parties and we also don't want similar incidents to happen again in Indonesia, Malaysia, or other countries in the world," he continued.

The incident at the Kanjuruhan Stadium after the Arema FC vs Persebaya Surabaya match attracted the attention of the world because it caused hundreds of victims to fall due to riots. Noted, no less than 125 people, including two police officers were reported to have died in the incident.

Judging from the record of the death toll, this is the second worst after the football tragedy at Estadio Nacional, Lima, Peru, on May 24, 1964 with 328 fatalities.
