JAKARTA - The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has confirmed that the friction between the men's doubles Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and coach Herry Iman Pierngadi has been resolved.

PSBI General Chair Agung Firman Sampurna in a press conference on Friday, October 30 said his party had carried out a family mediation process.

"I want to say that the friction in the organization is very ordinary, yes. However, it is necessary to explain that we have handled this small problem well so that there are no more significant problems," said Agung.

As is known, divisions between Kevin and Herry IP have emerged to the public in the past week.

In fact, both of them are said to have started not getting along since Kevin and his partner Marcu Fernaldi Gideon lost to a Korean couple, Kan Ming Hyuk/Seo Seung Jae, in the last June round of the last 16 of the Indonesia Open 2022.

The relationship then heated up following the war of comments through the media. Kevin on one occasion stated that his relationship with the coach nicknamed Naga Api would not recover.

Kevin even had refused to cooperate with Herry IP again on the field. According to Kevin, the starting point of the problem can actually be pulled back and forth since he entered the Cipayung National Training Center and was brought back by Herry IP.

Agung said that after the mediation was carried out by PBSI, the two had now met again and trained together. However, he did not confirm whether the joint exercise would continue or not.

"We will arrange the training issue later. Which one is the best, which one is the most conducive. However, what is clear today I have spoken to both of them," said Agung.

In this press conference, Kevin and Herry IP also had the opportunity to speak even though it was only for a short time. Both were present to clarify Agung's statement that the conflict that occurred had been resolved properly.

"If I'm wrong, I'm sorry. Yesterday we all met the men's doubles. This morning we also trained together too," said Herry IP briefly.

Just like Herry IP, Kevin apologized for what happened recently. However, the media crew were not given the opportunity to interact with the two speakers.

"I apologize for what has happened. We have talked and I also apologize if all this time there have been wrong statements," he said.
