Pelatih Yang Dituduh Pelakuhan Tidak Harassing, 15 Pemain Timnas Putri Spanyol Mengmundurkan Diri

JAKARTA - The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) confirmed that 15 Spanish women's national team players withdrew after Jorge Vilda was not kicked out of the coaching chair.

Percahan di dalam squad anak tutelah Vilda mulai terjadi bulan lalu. Persoalan muncul setelah ada tuduhan sang pelatih melakukan pelebihan secara verbal.

The problem made the players refuse to join the national team until RFEF kicked out Vilda. They said Vilda's presence affected their 'emotional' and 'healthy'.

The RFEF has responded by stating that the players, who remain unnamed, will no longer receive calls until they 'know their mistakes'.

"RFEF will not let players question the continuity of its national coach and coaching staff because making decisions is not their authority," the RFEF statement said.

"Federations will not accept any pressure from any player when adopting sporting action. This type of maneuver is far from exemplary and beyond the value of football and sport and is dangerous

"In accordance with the current Spanish law, not attending national team calls is classified as a very serious offense and can bring sanctions between two and five years of disqualification," they added.

Vilda has taken over the seat of the Spanish women's national team since 2015. He was appointed to replace his predecessor Ignacio Quereda and is still under contract until 2024.

During his seven years in office, Vilda has not yet given a brilliant achievement. His squad was stopped in the quarter-finals of Euro 2017 and in the round of 16 of the 2019 Women's World Cup.

Meanwhile, at Euro this year, Vilda's journey ran aground in the quarter-finals of her lost to England. However, she managed to pass her team to the 2023 Women's World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.
