Barcelona Takes The First Benefit Since COVID-19, The Amount Is IDR 1.4 Trillion

''With the amount of profit and revenue in this fiscal year, Barcelona has finally recorded a profit for the first time on the club's balance sheet since the COVID-19 pandemic, two years ago,' the ESPN report reads.

The big profit pocketed by Barcelona in the 2020/2021 fiscal year cannot be separated from the sale of 10 percent of La Liga's broadcasting rights by club management to investment firm from the United States, Sixth Street. The value of the agreement between Barcelona and Sixth Street is reported to have reached 200 million euros or IDR 3 trillion.

The Barcelona and Sixth Street agreement is known to have been completed before June 30, 2022, or before the close of the 2021/2022 fiscal year. Through various business deals with other parties so far this year, Barcelona is also quite optimistic that it can double profits in the 2022/2023 fiscal year.

''Barcelona predicts it will record revenues of 1.255 billion euros in this year's balance sheet (2022/2023) with an estimated profit of 271 million euros. A number of asset sales this summer are the reason for Blaugrana's optimism,'' continued ESPN reports.

In addition to relinquishing La Liga's broadcasting rights to Sixth Street, under the control of Joan Laporta, Barcelona also released 24.5 percent of shares in Barca Studios with a value of 200 million euros.

It is known that Barca Studios is a company owned by Barcelona that deals with merchandise licenses and official club products. With the entry of the investment, Barca Studios will reportedly focus on blockchain and web development.

The improving financial condition resulted in Barcelona's ability to bring in a number of players in the transfer window earlier this season. In addition to signing Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Kunde for a certain transfer value, Barcelona also recruited Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, and feasibilityline for free.
