JAKARTA - The heavyweight world title holders version IBF, WBA Super, WBO, and IBO Oleksandr Usyk are targeting Deontay Wilder as their next opponent.

Reported by Boxingnews24 from RingTV, Thursday, Usyk is even rumored to be attending Wilder's duel against Robert Helenius at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, October 15.

Usyk does want the WBC title currently held by Tyson Fury. However, Fury seems to be choosing Anthony Joshua first and the news circulating says the duel took place on December 3.

Not to mention the potential for a rematch, Usyk will have to wait a long time and may not even have the opportunity to fight Fury until the end of 2023.

Seeing this condition, when asked who the next boxer was, Usyk replied to Deontay Wilder. "He is a dangerous fighter and this match is most likely being held in the United States," Usyk said, quoted by Antara, Sunday.

It is worth waiting for whether Wilder will accept Usyk's invitation after the match against Helenius.

In the last match, Usyk emphasized his status as the most dangerous heavyweight boxer after defeating Anthony Joshua again in a rematch in Jeddah Superdome, Saudi Arabia, last August 20.

The win extended the Ukrainian unbeaten record in 20 games.

Meanwhile, Wilder is trying to bounce back following two consecutive defeats to Tyson Fury, including in the last match at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, October 9, 2021.

The match against Helenius on October 15 will also be the start of Wilder's return to the ring.
