Position In Haas Endangered, Mick Schumacher Instead Got Good News From Williams

JAKARTA - The son of legend Michael Schumacher, Mick Schumacher, doesn't seem to need to bother looking for a team for Formula 1 next season. There is already a team that wants to ask for him.

Williams is reportedly considering the possibility of signing the German for the 2023 season.

This is good news considering Schumacher's place in Haas is under threat. This is after the second season there runs quite difficult.

Williams is looking for a new driver after Nicolas Latifi is almost certain that his services will no longer be used. There are two names that are candidates, namely Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren) and Nyck de Vries ( Formula 2 and Formula E winners).

De Vries has been given an unexpected opportunity by replacing Albon, who will undergo surgery after being diagnosed with arthritis. The opportunity was put to very good use after finishing 9th.

However, Schumacher appears as a competitor. In fact, Williams boss, Jost Capito, has confirmed it.

He is being considered by Schumacher along with several Formula 2 drivers who are on the rise.

"Of course, you see what other riders do. We haven't decided on a second racer yet," Capito told Sky Germany.

"We keep our options open, and there are many options. There are also drivers who are on the rise when you see what's happening in Formula 2."

"There are some good drivers who deserve a place in Formula 1. We also have to see what other teams are doing. We also have contracts with other team bosses, and you quite know what's going on in the background."

"Mick is very fast and a good guy. He should be on the list of teams that still have seats."
