JAKARTA - A total of 42 Indonesian athletes will compete in the Rock Climbing World Cup which will be held in Jakarta. Of course, the Red and White athletes are expected to gain achievements at home.

The Rock Climbing World Cup is planned to be held in Lot 16-17 SCBD, Jakarta on September 24-26.

Of the total 42 athletes, 22 of them will compete in the speed number. Meanwhile, 20 other athletes will compete in the lead number.

FPTI General Chair Yenny Wahid hopes that Indonesia will be able to become king at home on its own considering that the Red and White athletes previously appeared promising in various international tournaments.

For example, in 2021, said Yenny, Indonesia's national rock climbing athlete, Veddriq Leonardo, will set a world record when competing in the IFSCkira World Cup 2021 in Salt Lake City, United States, May 29, 2021).

Veddriq set the record in the final round, when he competed with fellow Indonesian rock climbing athletes, Kiromal Katibin. In the final round, Veddriq Leonardo recorded a time of 5.208 seconds and was named the champion of the men's speed category in the 2021 IFSC nation.

Then this year, Kiromal Katibin sharpened the world record in his own name when competing in the international competition, IFSC World Cup 2022 in Chamonix, France, last July, with a time of 5.00 seconds.

Then at The World Games in Birmingham, USA, 7-17 July, Indonesia swept away gold and silver in the men's speed category.

Yenny invites the entire community to attend and witness the prestigious world rock climbing tournament while providing maximum support for Indonesian athletes who will fight.

The presence of supporters, continued Yenny, will be an additional force for athletes to be able to provide the best results for Indonesia.

"It can be watched for free, just come. But don't forget to have vaccinated the boss and follow the standards of preventing and transmitting COVID-19," Yenny concluded.
