JAKARTA - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was angered by journalists' questions at a press conference ahead of Liverpool's away game against Napoli.

The Reds will play the 2022/2023 Champions League group stage match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Thursday, September 8 in the morning WIB.

In a press conference ahead of the match, a journalist questioned Klopp about the off-court threat to Liverpool supporters. The reason is, they were once attacked by supporters of I Partenopei - Napoli's nicknames - in 2010, 2018, and 2019.

The question actually made the German man angry. "That's an embarrassing question from you. You want to make a headline? I really don't understand," Klopp said, quoted by The Sun.

"Are you from Napoli? Do you think it's a dangerous city? I don't know. I don't live a normal life in Napoli," Klopp added.

Napoli City is known not to be friendly to Liverpool fans. On three occasions there in the past decade, they have been chased on the streets, attacked in bars, and stabbed in the back.

In 2010, two of The Kop's names for Liverpool supporters "even suffered serious injuries from being stabbed. Their match was saved after being rushed to the hospital.

A few hours before Klopp was angered by journalists, Liverpool had already reminded their supporters via social media.

They asked The Kop not to roam the city of Napoli until the kick-off of the game.

"Suporters arriving in Naples (Napoli) before match day must remain in their respective hotels. You are highly advised not to wear the identity of the team while traveling," Liverpool wrote.

"Fans should not gather in public areas and should not be isolated in areas far from the port of the city. We strongly advise you to avoid the city center," they continued.

"If you choose to travel, be careful because you may be the target of theft, robbery, or attack. In accordance with Italian authorities, you are advised to always bring your still valid photo ID," concluded the Reds.
