JAKARTA - One of seven women who have accused Manchester City's Benjamin Mendy of sexually assaulting him has opened up about moments when he faced attempted rape.

Mendy continues to undergo trial on charges of eight cases of rape, one sexual assault, and one attempted rape. The incident occurred between 2018 and 2021.

The woman told police that she met Mendy in Barcelona in 2017. Meanwhile, she began to receive threats and face sexual assault from the footballer in October 2018.

The first threat he received from Mendy was when he was about to go out at night. Then after the party, the young woman and a friend decided to spend the night in Mendy's bedroom.

The victim revealed during the trial that Mendy had a panic room or security room in the house. It was in that room that the 28-year-old player locked his victim.

The 29-year-old explained that the next morning Mendy entered the bathroom while she was taking a shower and attacked her intimate parts against her will.

"I felt his presence. I don't know how, but I felt his presence. I was in shock. I just wanted to grab a towel," he told Marca.

The testimony recorded by the police was heard by eight male judges and six female judges. In the recording, the victim continued to explain that Mendy was trying to block the way out.

"He tried to look at me and took off my towel. I kept pushing him to the point where he kept grabbing me. He took off his pants and brought his cock closer to me," she said.

"I tried to push him but he kept pushing me. He took off his boxer shorts and brought his dick close to me. He kept saying: don't worry," the woman explained.

After that Mendy pushed his victim onto the bed and tried to pull him into his lap. Meanwhile, the victim kept trying to cover herself with a towel and tried to escape Mendy's grip.

The victim explained to the police that she does not remember how the incident ended. After that, the victim put on his clothes and went out the front door of the house to call a taxi.

On 13 January 2022, the victim reported Mendy on charges of sexual assault to the Walworth Police Station in London.

If found guilty, Mendy could spend 20 years behind bars and possibly life in prison. However, in May 2022, Mendy denied his innocence on nine counts of sexual misconduct against him.
