JAKARTA - The management of Arema FC asked the supporters of the club commonly known as Aremania to stop a number of actions that could trigger sanctions to be given to the team nicknamed Singo Edan.

Chairman of the Panpel Arema FC Abdul Haris in Malang City, East Java, Monday said that all parties were asked to conduct introspection after Singo Edan received a fine of Rp. 170 million for the actions of supporters that harmed the club.

"This is very unfortunate. We continue to urge, if necessary, take firm action on things that have the potential to cause violations that result in losses to the club," Haris said as quoted by Antara, Monday.

For information, the Disciplinary Commission (Komdis) of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) imposed a fine of up to Rp. 170 million against the club, which was designed by the Portuguese coach, Eduardo Almeida.

The fine was conveyed by the PSSI Komdis through three letters with the numbers 016/L1/SK/KD-PSSI/VII/2022, 015/L1/SK/KD-PSSI/VII/2022 and 014/L1/SK/KD-PSSI/VIII. /2022. The letter was received by Arema FC management on August 15, 2022.

The fine of Rp. 170 million, explained Haris, came from three violations, namely the actions of unscrupulous supporters who lit flares or flares in the north and south stands during the match against PSS Sleman. The violation resulted in a fine of Rp. 100 million.

Then, the PSSI Komdis also mentioned that there were two mineral glass tossed by unscrupulous supporters who were directed at PSS Sleman players. As a result of throwing the mineral glass, the fine that must be paid by Arema FC increased by Rp. 50 million.

"The third violation is the shooting of several firecrackers at the hotel where PSS Sleman is staying. This fulfills the total fine that must be paid by Arema FC of Rp. 170 million," he said.

Haris added that the executive and security committees will take firm action as an anticipatory measure so that the incident does not repeat itself. Because, if the violation occurs again, Arema FC could be subject to a penalty of emptying the stands or undergoing an expulsion match.

"We have to think about the worst possibility as a result of this violation, because it does not rule out the possibility of emptying the stands and even sending out matches," he said.

He asked all Arema FC supporters to stop all actions that could trigger sanctions and fines issued by the PSSI Komdis. His party will coordinate to build awareness of supporters so that there is no similar incident.

"The main thing that must be built is awareness, no matter how tight the security with a large number of personnel, it will be meaningless without the awareness of the supporters," he said.

Currently Arema FC has seven points and is in 6th place in the Liga 1 2022-2023 standings after beating Bali United in the last match. Of the four matches that have been played, Arema FC has won two matches, one draw and one defeat.
