JAKARTA - UFC star Anthony Smith said his toughest fight was not in the octagon but against an intruder trying to break into his home in Nebraska.

The incident occurred in April two years ago. The intruder was identified later as Luke Haberman who was a former wrestler.

"I'm not lying when I say it was one of the toughest fights I've ever had in my entire life," he said.

“No normal human is capable of fighting like that. I'm not at all the meanest man on the planet. I have a hard time dealing with it. He got all the punches; knees and elbows, and keep fighting me.”

Haberman was an impressive wrestler during his high school education. According to BJJ's Eastern European records, he had a 32-11 record in his senior years.

The fight with Smith also lasted for at least five minutes. Haberman reportedly received several injuries and had to be taken to the hospital after being questioned by the police.

“I faced that fight and was ready to die. No one is good at breaking into a house in the middle of the night without a gun. When they break through at night, it's to hurt people," Smith said.

The fighter known as 'Lionheart' has just returned to the octagon for UFC 277 in Dallas on July 30 against Magomed Ankalaev. Unfortunately, he had to give up on his opponent by technical knockout (TKO).

The fight was Smith's first in 10 months after he defeated Ryan Spann via first-round submission at UFC Fight Night 192 in September last year.
