JAKARTA - The amateur league in Argentina was colored by commendable actions. The female referee, Dalma Magali Cortadi, was subjected to a brutal attack while officiating a match.
Cortadi was the victim of a beating by a male player. The embarrassing incident occurred in the Argentine League amateur competition between Garmense vs. Deportivo Independencia in Tres Arroyos, Buenos Aires.
Sources say the incident began after Cortadi sent a yellow card to one of the Garmense players. But one of his comrades didn't accept it and ran towards Cortadi and threw a punch in the back.
This incident immediately made Cortadi fall into the grass and had sparked a crowd from both camps. The linesman was forced to push Tirone to prevent further attacks.
Argentinean media La Nacion reported that several police officers entered the field and arrested Tirone shortly after the beating.
Due to the brutal incident, Cortadi was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The match had to be postponed by the organizing committee.
Not accepting this brutal beating, the 30-year-old female referee then urged the Argentine Football Federation to give Tirone a life ban.

"You have to kick Tirone out forever. He should never have played for any club," Cortadi told Ole as quoted by SportBible.
"He is a cruel person. He also has to endure this in his daily life. I watched the video replays and a normal human would not do what this man did," Cortadi added.
Cortadi really did not accept the beating incident by Tirone. He hopes the 34-year-old player gets the punishment he deserves.
"No one deserves this. We didn't come on the pitch to be hit. I hope he pays for what he did," Cortadi said.
Following Cortadi's disapproval, Tirone's club Garmense also immediately took firm steps by issuing an official statement and condemning the player's brutal actions.
"The club strongly rejects any such action which goes against the spirit which this sport is intended to instill," reads a statement from the club.
