Becoming A Transit Airport, This Is Soekarno-Hatta Airport Preparation Welcoming Athletes And Officials Of The ASEAN Para Games 2022

JAKARTA - The 2022 ASEAN Para Games will be held from July 30 in Solo, Central Java. Contingents from other countries have started to arrive.

It is noted that there are already 100 athletes and officials participating in the 2022 ASEAN Para Games who have transited at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said Soekarno-Hatta Airport had prepared itself to welcome the arrival of athletes and officials participating in the 2022 ASEAN Para Games.

"In welcoming the arrival of athletes and officials participating in the 2022 ASEAN Para Games, AP II has coordinated with various parties, especially the Indonesia National Paralympic Organization Committee (INASPOC) to ensure that the arrival of athletes and officials goes smoothly," said Awaluddin, as quoted from Antara, Sunday, July 24.

He said his party would provide the best service in welcoming athletes and officials. Awaluddin said Soekarno-Hatta Airport provided Indonesian hospitality to give a positive impression to athletes and officials when they arrived in the country.

Executive General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Agus Haryadi said that assistance and facilities were prepared to welcome athletes and officials on 19-30 July 2022. The flow of international arrivals for athletes and officials had also been well designed.

After processing the protocols/health provisions as well as immigration and customs, athletes and officials will then get assistance to transit to Terminal 1, Terminal 2, or Terminal 3 to then continue the flight to Surakarta.

All facilities are also ensured to be ready, including low-deck buses on the airside that are friendly for wheelchair users, then fast lane for the disabled at the security check point (SCP), priority seats at each departure gate, lifts for the disabled, stairs for the disabled, toilets for the disabled, as well as golf cars and other facilities.

"In addition, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has also prepared special personnel to support INASPOC," said Agus Haryadi.

Agus Haryadi said that AP II also socialized and enlivened the implementation of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games by broadcasting various content related to the event on digital media (digital banners and videos) at the passenger terminals (Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3).

He added, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is one of the airports with the most complete disability facilities. Disability services available at AP II airports refer to PM Number 98 of 2017 concerning Provision of Accessibility in Public Transportation Services for Service Users with Special Needs.
