Doubts Appeared In Alex Rins Before Deciding To Join LCR Honda, Uncertain About Conquering RC213V

JAKARTA - Alex Rins has officially become a rider who defends LCR Honda in the 2023 MotoGP season. Before deciding to join the Honda satellite team, Rins admitted that he was filled with doubts.

Doubts are related to motor problems. In this new team, Rins will ride a Honda RC213V motorcycle.

Even though Honda's iron horse is known to have a bad history. Apart from Marc Marquez, no other rider has been able to tame the bike.

In fact, riders like Jorge Lorenzo were made difficult. Not to mention the condition of the motor this year which is so difficult to drive.

"I also question this (about the bike). In the past, (Jorge) Lorenzo defended Honda and had difficulties. Pol was able to race well, but also had a bit of trouble. So did Alex Marquez," Rins said on the Tank Slapper podcast. quoted from Speedweek.

Even though he is well aware of the huge challenges he will face, Rins also doesn't have much choice. Instead, he chose to face it with enthusiasm and racing focus.

"I'm very excited to join this project. Of course, I thought if the bike was difficult to handle, and see how it turned out. But, I tried not to think about it and ride the bike and get results," said Rins asserted.

Rins and LCR Honda agreed to cooperate with the duration of the next two years. In his contract, Rins will also be in contact with HRC to help develop their motorcycle.
