A Week Has Passed, Vittinghus And Antonsen Are Still Enthusiastic About Discussing The Ginting Racket Slamming Celebration: I Like It

JAKARTA - Two men's singles badminton players from Denmark, Hans-Kristian Vittinghus and Anders Antonsen are still in awe of the celebration by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting at the Singapore Open 2022.

The two of them were even so enthusiastic about talking about it. Vittinghus even admitted that he liked Ginting's spontaneous celebration by slamming his racket.

Antonsen and Vittinghus' conversation about Ginting was shared in their second podcast entitled The Badminton Experience.

In the latest episode uploaded on Thursday, July 21, the two discussed Ginting's victory at the Singapore Open 2022.

In the middle of the discussion, Antonsen discussed Ginting who was finally able to win the title at the Singapore Open 2022 after two years of fasting.

In the final of the Singapore Open 2022, Ginting defeated Kodai Naraoka with a score of 22-20 and 21-17. After confirming the winning points, Ginting celebrated by slamming the racket until the frame broke and the strings unraveled.

"He (Anthony Ginting) broke his racket when he won," said Antonsen.

This topic of discussion was immediately greeted enthusiastically by Vittinghus. "Yes I like the celebration, I love the celebration," replied Vittinghus.

Vittinghus understands that what Ginting is doing is a form of expression for the anticipated victory. "That's great, of course we don't encourage people to slam racquets," said Vittinghus.

"But if you see how he reacts, it shows he really wants it (a win) and he can't hold back (a happy expression) anymore."

Even though he didn't seem good enough, Antonsen understood Ginting's actions. In fact, according to him, it is normal for athletes to do something as an outburst of emotion.

"It was so emotional and you love to see that happen to an athlete. He's so happy there's no question whether he's slamming the racket out of pleasure or out of frustration and acting badly," said Antonsen.
