Chelsea Raises Bid For Matthijs De Ligt To IDR 1.2 Trillion, Juventus Want Numbers Closer To The Player's Contract Clause

JAKARTA - English Premier League club Chelsea has reportedly made a new offer to Italian League club Juventus to bring in Matthijs de Ligt in the player transfer market this summer.

Quoted from Antara from Italian Football, Monday, Chelsea are reported to have offered 80 million euros or around IDR 1.2 trillion to convince Juventus to release the Dutch centre-back.

It is known that De Ligt has a release clause of 120 million euros (around Rp1.8 trillion) at Juventus and the Bianconeri want an offer that is at least close to that figure.

Last week, Chelsea's offer of 40 million euros plus Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic was rejected by Juventus.

Chelsea's great desire to sign De Ligt comes because this summer they lost two central defenders Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen who chose to leave Stamford Bridge after their contracts expired at the end of the month.

In the summer of 2019, Juventus paid 75 million euros to Ajax to sign De Ligt on a five-year contract. This price also makes the Dutch player the most expensive defender in the history of Italian football.

Last season, the 22-year-old made 42 appearances in various competitions for Juventus and scored three goals and one assist from a total of 3,691 minutes played.
