Staring At The Club From His Hometown, Gareth Bale Is Actually Willing To Cut His Salary Up To IDR 500 Billion To Join Los Angeles FC

JAKARTA - Former Real Madrid player, Gareth Bale, has confirmed his move to MLS club, Los Angeles FC. Bale is reportedly willing to take a significant pay cut to move to the United States.

As is known, the player, who only appeared in seven games during the 2021/2022 campaign, pocketed 28 million pounds (equivalent to Rp. 509 billion) at Real Madrid last season.

But his new contract at LAFC sees Bale earn no more than £1.3 million over 12 months, according to Livescore from The Athletic.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player agreed to cut his salary by 27.5 million pounds (equivalent to Rp500 billion) to secure a move to the California-based team. The deal also includes an option for an 18-month extension that will increase his salary.

In fact, Bale has the opportunity to join another club. The player's agent, Jonathan Barrett, claims there are four to five serious offers for the 32-year-old.

"It could have been more but we narrowed the pitch for him. He's not going to Italy or Spain, for example," said Barrett.

In fact, Bale has been linked with a move to his hometown club Cardiff City. The club have also expressed interest in signing the Welshman.

Cardiff owner Vincent Tan said: "We are very, very interested, he will be a big coup for us. It would be great for Gareth Bale to play for his hometown, all Welsh people would be very happy if Gareth Bale came back home and played for Cardiff ."

"Personally, I think the LAFC offer was too attractive for him to turn down. But at first he really wanted to come, not the money problem," he continued.

Apart from Cardiff, Getafe and DC United were also reportedly eyeing Gareth Bale before LAFC reached an agreement with the player.
