Wants Haji Agus Salim Stadium To Be The Homebase, Semen Padang: There Is A Lot That Needs To Be Fixed

JAKARTA - PT Kabau Sirah Semen Padang (KSSP) received a letter from PT Liga Indonesia Baru or LIB to determine the stadium that will be used as the home for Semen Padang this season. To that end, KSSP began to conduct a survey to a number of stadiums.

"We are conducting a survey to a number of stadiums, starting from the Haji Agus Salim Padang Stadium, the West Sumatran Main Stadium Sikabu Padang Pariaman and the M Yamin Sijunjung Stadium," said KSSP CEO Win Bernadino as quoted by Antara, Sunday, June 26.

He said PT LIB had given a deadline of July 5, 2022 as the deadline for teams to submit a homebase to be used as a cage this season.

In response to this, he continued, the management of Semen Padang has visited the West Sumatra Main Stadium at Sikabu and indeed the facilities there are still incomplete, especially the spectator stands and other facilities.

"The stadium still cannot be used for competitions," he said.

Meanwhile, for the Haji Agus Salim Stadium, which has always been the home of the Kabau Sirah team, the current management has submitted a loan application to the West Sumatra Provincial Government as the owner of the stadium.

"We are still waiting for a response from the West Sumatra Provincial Government through the Dispora. We have also explained what needs to be repaired at the stadium," he said.

He admitted that if the Haji Agus Salim Stadium was used for Liga 2, he would have to make a lot of improvements, starting with lawn care which took almost a month. Then support facilities such as bathrooms, changing rooms and others.

The repairs are estimated to cost more than Rp. 1.5 billion and this has been communicated to the West Sumatra Provincial Government and it is still waiting for an answer.

"We have high hopes that we can make Haji Agus Salim Stadium the home of the team, especially if the audience can watch live at the stadium, it will certainly have a positive effect on the team. We ask for prayers to all the people of West Sumatra so that we can live here," he said.

In addition, the management also visited the M Yamin Stadium, Sijunjung Regency, which had also been used as a temporary home for Semen Padang FC.

He considered the quality of the grass to be good and very well cared for by the local government, but there are other facilities that need to be equipped, namely stadium lights.

"This is a backup step if the Haji Agus Salim Stadium cannot be used, but we hope to be able to play at the stadium this season because this stadium has made a lot of history with Semen Padang FC. Please pray for it," he said.
