JAKARTA - Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova made convincing preparations for this year's Wimbledon by beating former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko 6-3 6-2 to claim the WTA 500 Eastbourne International crown on Saturday.

It was the Czech's 29th career title and the first in more than a year for the 32-year-old as he established himself as a potential Wimbledon champion.

Kvitova, -- Reported by Reuters via Antara -- appeared perfect on serve and took the lead with a series of 18 winners over the defending champion from Latvia who recorded nine consecutive titles at Eastbourne.

Kvitova, the former world number two, was tested only once during the 77-minute match, saving five break points at 2-1 in the 12-minute second set.

Kvitota, seeded 25th at Wimbledon, faces Italy's Jasmine Paolini in the first round at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, while Ostapenko, seeded 12th, will face Frenchman Oceane Dodin.
