JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta has made another breakthrough. After bringing in classy coach Thomas Doll, Macan Kemayoran is now recruiting European level players.

He is the Czech national team player Ondrej Kudela. The 35-year-old player is contracted by Persija Jakarta for the next three seasons.

Kudela's presence was warmly welcomed by Thomas Doll. The Persija coach assessed that the former Slavia Prague player could have a positive influence on the team's defense.

"Solid defensively, good ball distribution going forward, good mentality, very professional, and Ondrej is now a Czech national team player. He is also playing in the Nations League, so Persija's young players can learn a lot from Ondrej," said Ondrej. Doll on the club's official website.

In addition, Doll believes Kudela's experience appearing in the Europa League and Champions League will also greatly help the team in terms of quality. Kudela can be a role model and also an example for Persija players, both senior and junior.

Doll revealed that she had been in contact with Kudela since two weeks ago. The player is claimed to be very enthusiastic ahead of his first experience appearing in an Asian competition.

"Starting something new in Asia is a challenge for all of us, especially playing for Persija, a big club with a history. I've spoken with Ondrej that Persija have amazing fans, so he's very happy," said Doll.

Ondrej Kudela, who made 98 appearances for Slavia Prague, is Persija Jakarta's second foreign player. Previously, Macan Kemayoran decided to keep Makan Konate in their squad.
