Qualifying For The Second Round Of Indonesia Masters 2022, Praveen/Melati Admits There Was Troubled By India's Representative

JAKARTA - Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti managed to win a ticket to the second round of the 2022 Indonesia Masters. The result was achieved after they won over representatives of India, Ishaan Bhatnagar/Tanisha Crasto through a rubber game that ended 21-14, 16-21, and 21-12 .

Forced to go through the deciding round, the battle at the two Istora Senayan courts on Wednesday afternoon was indeed fierce. This was also acknowledged by Praveen/Melati who said that the non-seeded Indian representatives were a hassle for them.

"It was a bit crowded. In the third set, we were left behind and still fumbling with wind conditions, lights and all kinds of things. But we can handle it," Praveen said after the game.

In the first set, the fourth seeded mixed doubles shot far and was able to lock the win. However, in the second set, the situation was reversed. It was at this moment that Praveen/Melati realized that changes were made by the opponent, fortunately they immediately moved quickly to turn the situation around.

"Earlier when we fell behind (second set), they (Ishaan Bhatnagar / Tanisha Crasto) changed the game. So, we are quick to respond to anticipate, “continued Praveen.

Despite being left behind, Melati later revealed that the main key for them to be able to rise in the third set was high motivation to get through this round and advance to the next round.

"Yes, the motivation is that we have to go through this, I have also told Meli, we have to get through this match first, so step by step," explained Praveen.

In the round of 16, Praveen / Melati have the opportunity to meet fellow Indonesian representatives, Rinov Rivaldy / Pitha Haningtyas Mentari who will face Malaysian representatives Chen Tang Jie / Valeree Siow.
