JAKARTA - The French racer, Fabio Quartararo, has ended speculation about his future at the Yamaha factory team. He officially extended his contract with Yamaha until MotoGP 2024.

This decision was taken by Fabio Quartararo after carefully considering what Yamaha has to offer. The tuning fork team's seduction finally made him melt.

"My first goal is to get the best bike and project as I said before," Quartararo said on the official MotoGP website, as reported by Antara.

Previously, there were rumors that Quartararo would leave for another team. The reason is, the performance of the Yamaha motorcycle at the beginning of the season made him frustrated.

There were also talks with other teams. However, the communication was not continued because Yamaha managed to convince the rider.

"They (Yamaha) convinced me because they brought in new people, they work very hard and they know where they need to improve. In the past maybe they worked in a number of different areas but they didn't accept that their bike was slower than the others." he said.

"Now they understand that and they are really working to fix that weak point, so that's what made me take the decision to stay at Yamaha," continued Fabio Quartararo.

Meanwhile, Yamaha Motor Racing managing director Lin Jarvis was delighted to be able to defend the 2021 MotoGP world champion. He called Quartararo a special talent.

"We brought Fabio to the factory team last year knowing he was a special talent. Together with Fabio we know he will always give his best 100 per cent," he said.

"We have assured him that Yamaha will do the same and we will invest in future developments so that together we can challenge for the MotoGP World Championship title for years to come," continued the Yamaha Racing boss.
