MU Officially Releases Juan Mata, 6 Top Midfielders Are Ready To Be Tempted To Join Old Trafford

JAKARTA – Juan Mata has officially left Manchester United. He left after eight years playing for the club based at Old Trafford.

The Spain international's contract expires this summer. He did not get a contract extension following the arrival of new coach Erik ten Hag who did not need his services.

"Manchester United confirms that Juan Mata will leave the club when his contract expires this summer," United wrote on their official website.

The 34-year-old midfielder joined the Red Devils in January 2014. During his time at Manchester United he played a total of 285 games, scored 51 goals and won four trophies.

Mata made his last appearance in an away game to Crystal Palace on 22 May. The former Chelsea player is the third player to leave Manchester United.

Previously, United had officially announced the release of Paul Pogba and Jesse Linggard for free. The departure of these three midfielders left a vacant position in the Red Devils' midfield.

A number of names were immediately associated with the British giant. One of the club's management radar is Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

In addition, Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante is also said to be courting a move to Old Trafford. Another name that has become the subject of speculation in the nearest transfer market is West Ham United's Declan Rice.
