JAKARTA - Former Chelsea owner, Roman Abrahomich, has again written a farewell letter. The Russian tycoon said Chelsea had found the right person to replace his position.

Roman Abramovich said the team had been working hard to find a new owner in the last three months since he announced his intention to leave Chelsea.

"During that time, the team has worked hard to find the right person for Chelsea FC, who is best positioned to lead the club to the next round successfully," Abramovich said in a club statement.

"Ownership of this club comes with a huge responsibility. Since I came to Chelsea almost twenty years ago, I have witnessed firsthand what this club can achieve."

"My goal is to ensure the next owner has the mindset that will enable success for the team, as well as the desire and drive to continue developing other key aspects of the club, such as the academy and the vital work of the Chelsea Foundation."

The 55-year-old is delighted that the search has now reached a successful conclusion. As he handed Chelsea over to its new owners, Abramovich wanted to wish them all the best, both on and off the pitch.

"It is a lifetime honor to be a part of this club. I would like to thank all the players, staff and of course the club's fans for these incredible years," he said.

"I am proud that as a result of our mutual success, millions of people will now benefit from the new charitable foundations that are being established. This is the legacy we have created together."

As is known, Chelsea is just one step away from being owned by a consortium headed by an American businessman, Todd Boehley. They have received the green light from the Premier League regarding the takeover of Chelsea.

Now, Boehley and his business partners are just waiting for approval from the British government, which reportedly wants to make sure the funds to buy Chelsea are not used by Roman Abramovich personally.
