The First Day Of The Italian Moto3 Free Practice Session At The Mugello Circuit: Mario Aji Has The Chance To Directly Pass Q2

JAKARTA - Indonesian racer Mario Aji recorded a satisfactory time on the first day of the Italian Moto3 free practice session at the Mugello Circuit, Friday, May 27. With a record lap time made, he has the opportunity to qualify for the second qualification (Q2).

In the first free practice session (FP1) which took place in the morning local time, Mario Aji took the 8th position with a time of 1 minute 58,153 seconds.

However, the Honda Team Asia racer failed to sharpen his record time in FP2 which took place at noon local time. Mario Aji carved the best lap time of 1 minute 59.708 seconds in this second session.

With that record, Mario Aji occupies the 26th position. Meanwhile, Jaume Masia was the fastest in FP2 with a time of 1 minute 57,134 seconds.

However, Mario Aji occupies the 13th position in the combined lap time on this first day. That means he is still included in the category of racers who can qualify for Q2.

The Moto3 qualifying round itself will be held on Saturday, May 28. Previously, the riders would have one more free practice session.

Mario Aji must be careful and must sharpen his record time. The reason is, the racer from Magetan is only a few seconds away from Scott Odgen who occupies the 15th position in the combined time.

Please note, drivers who occupy positions 1 to 14 in the combined time in the free practice session are entitled to qualify directly for Q2. While the rest will fight first in Q1 to fight for tickets to Q2.
