Portugal MotoGP FP3 Results: Mandalika Champion Miguel Oliveira Fastest At Home

JAKARTA - KTM rider Miguel Oliveira came out as the fastest in third free practice (FP3) MotoGP Portugal. The host rider was ahead of Joan Mir who followed in second place.

Oliveira successfully recorded a time of one minute 50.552 seconds at the Portimao Circuit on Saturday, April 23 afternoon WIB. He was +0.049 seconds faster than Mir and +0.054 seconds faster than Fabio Quartararo who finished in third place.

Marquez and Pol Espargaro of Repsol Honda are fifth and sixth. Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi of Mooney VR46 Racing is in seventh place.

Johann Zarco of Pramac Racing was eighth but failed to improve. Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro was the last rider to improve with 20 minutes remaining, slipping into the top ten and ejecting team-mate Maverick Vinales out of Q2.

Jack Miller of the Lenovo Ducati team grabbed the last place that guaranteed him to Q2 later. However, at the expense of team mate Francesco Bagnaia. The Italian will be joined in Q1 by Ducati teammates Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini who lead the standings at the moment.

Marquez himself had an unlucky time in this session after dominating FP1 and finishing second in FP2. The six-time MotoGP world champion suffered a major crash at Turn 8 after taking control of the early minutes of FP3.

Luckily for the Spaniard, the Spaniard was not injured after the accident and was still able to ride his motorbike towards the pits. The crash experienced by Marquez was then put to good use by Oliveira.
