JAKARTA - Persebaya Surabaya is still hunting for new players to face the Indonesian League 1 for the 2022/2023 season. One player being targeted is former midfielder for Croatian club HNK Rijeka, Brylian Aldama.

Persebaya Surabaya coach, Aji Santoso admitted that he had offered Brylian Aldama to join his team. Now they are just waiting for an answer from the 20-year-old player.

"If you really want to, go ahead. If not, yes, no problem for me," said Aji, as quoted by Antara.

According to the 52-year-old tactician, Persebaya management has explained the salary value to Brylian Aldama. Although he did not say how much, Aji emphasized that the amount was in accordance with Brylian's capacity as a talented young player.

"Many people think he is good, but he has not been tested in Liga 1. We have offered a salary which in my opinion is appropriate for Brylian who has no experience in the competition," said Aji.

Persebaya, Aji continued, has taken steps to bring the Garuda Select dropout to the team. One of them is to meet the parents of the player.

Now, Aji has left all decisions in the hands of Brylian. "So, yeah, back to Brylian," he said.

Brylian Aldama is currently without a club. He revealed that he had terminated the contract with HNK Rijeka for a reason.

Brylian is popular in the country because he helped bring Indonesia to the 2018 AFF U-16 Cup and 2018 U-16 Asian Cup quarter-finalists. Apart from joining HNK Rijeka, he has also played for another Croatian club, NK Pomorac 1921.
