JAKARTA - Arsenal are investigating allegations of homosexual abuse during the home match against Brighton & Hove Albion, last weekend. The London club said two of their supporters were sent off during the match.

In addition, the Gunners will also increase surveillance in areas where abuse is reported.

"The reported incident is now being investigated by the club, and we will take strong action against the perpetrators identified," Arsenal said in a statement.

Harassment of homosexuals is not the first time this has happened. Previously in October when Arsenal were guests at Brighton's headquarters, a similar incident had occurred.

The abuser was subsequently barred from viewing at the Emirates for three years following the outcome of a trial at Brighton Magistrates Court earlier this month. The same perpetrator is also prohibited from appearing in person at Brighton headquarters indefinitely.

"Arsenal must be a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, and we want to make it clear that any form of discriminatory harassment is not welcome at our club," Arsenal said.
