Was Critical, Former Real Madrid And Colombian National Team Player Freddy Rincon Dies After Having An Accident

JAKARTA - Sad news came from the world of international football. Former Colombian national team player who also played for Real Madrid in 1995, Freddy Rincon, has died.

This news was first known from the upload of his friend, Juan Pablo Sorin on Instagram on Thursday, April 14 at noon WIB. The former Juventus retainer in the 1996 era was seen uploading a photo of his last meeting with Rincon.

“Rest in peace Freddy Rincon, dear friend. We will always remember you for your kindness as a human being, your joy, your friendship, your prowess, your claw technique and the unforgettable power of an unforgettable player," Juan Pablo wrote in his post.

The former Argentina international also expressed his condolences to the family left behind by Rincon and all those who loved the veteran footballer.

"My condolences from my family to all your family and those who love you this is a sad night. This photo was taken from our last meeting in Colombia," he concluded.

Previously, it was known that Rincon had received intensive care because his condition was critical after a car accident. The fateful incident occurred in the city of Cali on April 12 at dawn local time.

Rincon's car collided with a bus and left him with a head injury.

Rincon is a footballer who became one of the pillars of the Colombian national team. Rincon also successfully led his country to three consecutive World Cups in 1990, 1994 and 1998 with Carlos Valderrama and Faustino Asprilla.

Throughout his career in the Argentine national team, Rincon has recorded 84 caps and scored 17 goals. The player also briefly defended Real Madrid after moving from Napoli in the 1995 era and spent two seasons at the Bernabeu before returning to South America to play for local club, Palmeiras.
