JAKARTA – The Indonesian 3x3 basketball national team has started to prepare for the 2021 Hanoi SEA Games. They will practice until May 6.
The team, which is managed by Ferry Jufry, has started gathering at the Century Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta, since Monday, March 4 yesterday. A total of eight players who are included in the list fulfill the call.
"The national team will practice at the Senayan Basketball Hall from Monday to Saturday every 08.00-12.00 WIB," said Ferri in an official statement received by VOI.
The eight players who joined were Kevin Moses Eliazer Poetiray, Nickson Damar Gosal, Dame Diagne, Mohammad Sandy Ibrahim Azis, Jamarr Andre Johnson, Surliyadin, Oki Wira Sanjaya, and Julian Alexandre Chalias.
The names come in excellent condition. They have no injury problems even though they have just finished defending their respective clubs in the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) competition.
"The training program will place more emphasis on teamwork to build chemistry so that this team becomes solid and can achieve the results we want," said Ferri.
The team is scheduled to try out for the ABL 3x3 Tournament in Bali on April 16-17 2022. The championship is a test event that can be done before the 2022 SEA Games Hanoi.
In addition, the 3x3 basketball national team will also be an illustration to face several events in the future. These include the FIBA Asia Cup 3x3 in Singapore and the Asian Games in China in September.
At the Hanoi SEA Games the team is targeting at least to defend the silver medal from the Philippines in the previous edition. However, they will try their best to get a gold medal.
"We really believe that because the current players are ready to play," said Ferri.
