Patrick Vieira Wasn't Surprised By Crystal Palace's Impressive Performance As Arsenal Slaughtered Three Goals Without Reply

JAKARTA - Crystal Palace coach Patrick Vieira admitted that he was not surprised by the impressive performance of his team when they beat Arsenal 3-0 in the 31st week of the Premier League match, Tuesday, April 5 in the morning WIB.

In the duel at Selhurst Park stadium, London, the Eagles' goals were scored by Jeane Mateta in the 16th minute, Jordan Ayew in the 24th minute and Wilfried Zaha through a penalty kick in the 74th minute.

For his team's appearance, Patrick Vieira who is a former Arsenal player also praised the appearance of Wilfried Zaha et al. He said this result was the fruit of the players' hard work since the start of the season.

"It was a very good team performance," Vieira was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"There were games where we did well but didn't take our chances, but in this game we did well from the start and we managed to win the game and not concede.

Vieira is reluctant to consider a landslide victory over Arsenal as Crystal Palace's best performance this season. However, the coach thinks the Eagles should be able to play that well.

"It was the performance we wanted and hoped for," said Vieira.

"At the start of the season we had ups and downs. This time we played well from the first minute and I am very proud of the performance of the players."

"Our aim now is to try and perform like that and that is a challenge for us."

After beating Arsenal 3-0, Crystal Palace are now in 9th position in the Premier League standings with 37 points from 30 matches. Meanwhile, Arsenal are still stuck in fifth position with 54 points from 29 matches.
