2022 AFF Cup Futsal Results: Indonesia Beat Malaysia 5-1

JAKARTA – The Indonesian futsal team won big against Malaysia in the 2022 AFF Futsal Cup. The Garuda squad slaughtered the neighboring country with a landslide score of 5-1.

Indonesia challenged Malaysia in Group A at the Huamark Indoor Stadium, Bangkok Thailand, on Monday, April 4, 2022. Evan Soumilena and Adriansyah Nur each scored two goals, meanwhile, Firman Ardiansyah completed Indonesia's victory party.

Meanwhile, Malaysia was only able to reply to the only goal through Mohd Ridzwan. This result makes Indonesia stick closely to Thailand, which occupies the top position of the group standings.

Indonesia currently has 6 points from two matches or equal to Thailand's. Previously, Indonesia collected the first three points thanks to a big 12-0 over Brunei Darussalam in the inaugural match.

In the match against Malaysia, the Red and White squad appeared quite dominant. However, until the first half both teams did not score a single goal.

Then Indonesia could only take the lead after halftime. Evan recorded his name on the scoreboard, but Malaysia responded immediately a minute later due to a pass error from an Indonesian player.

In the middle of the second half, Indonesia took the lead again after Firman scored a goal. Malaysia fell behind after that Evan again scored the second goal for Indonesia.

Ardiansyah Nur then completed Indonesia's victory party with two goals in the last minute. He successfully recorded his name twice in the span of one minute.

Indonesia will next face Thailand in the third match. After that, they face Cambodia in the last match on April 6th.
