Scores 14,216 Points At Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo Breaks Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's Record

JAKARTA - Giannis Antetokounmpo officially surpassed Kareen Abdul-Jabbar's record as the all-time top scorer of the Milwaukee Bucks when they won 120-119 over the Brooklyn Nets in New York, Thursday local time.

The Greek star cleared Abdul-Jabbar from the Bucks' all-time top scorer when he hit a three-pointer with 18.7 seconds of the fourth quarter remaining.

Antetokounmpo closed the game with 44 points to lead the Bucks' top scorer list with 14,216 and ahead of Abdul-Jabbar who had 14,211 points.

In his ninth season with the Bucks, Antetokounmpo now leads the team's all-time standings by points, blocks and triple-doubles.

Last season, Antetokounmpo won his first NBA championship ring ending the Bucks' 47-year title drought.

Individually, Antetokounmpo won the NBA title with his personal award as Final Player of the Year (MVP).

Since being recruited by the Bucks as the 15th pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, Antetokounmpo has won a variety of individual achievements including the 2019 and 2020 NBA MVP, breaking into the All-Star team for six consecutive seasons 2017-2022, Best Defending Player (DPOY) 2020. Most Developed Player 2017, was selected to the 2019-2021 All-NBA First Team and even entered the 75th anniversary edition of the NBA Team.

The Bucks have already locked in the play-offs this season and are currently second in the Eastern Conference with a 48-28 win and loss record with six games remaining in the regular season.
