4 Abramovich Substitute Candidates Left, Chelsea Fans Have Deadline To Increase Offer Until April 11

JAKARTA - The process of selling Chelsea continues to enter a new phase. Of the many enthusiasts, now there are four potential new owners.

With the candidates increasingly narrow, the Blues gave the green light for enthusiasts to continue to increase bids, but with a deadline of only April 11.

Chelsea must immediately find a new owner because the current owner, Roman Abramovich is in a precarious situation. The 55-year-old was sanctioned for his relationship with Vladimir Putin, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Reporting from Sportsmail on Tuesday, March 29, regarding the sale of the club, now there are only four strong candidates who continue to seek opportunities to have the Blues. The first prospective buyer is the boss of the Boston Celtics, the United States NBA club, Stephen Pagliuca who is also a commander at Bain Capital and also the owner of Italian Serie A club Atalanta.

The next potential buyer is the owner of the US baseball club LA Dodgers, Todd Boehly. While the third strong candidate is former British Airways boss Sir Martin Broughton and the last to take part is the Ricketts family.

The candidates previously also continued to compete fiercely to become the owner of Chelsea. The four even continued to seek clarity on whether or not they could improve their offerings.

In this regard, Raine, who was appointed as the coordinating advisory bank for the club regarding this sale, confirmed that Chelsea had allowed interested people to continue to raise new offers with a deadline of April 11.

Sportsmail explained that bidders also believed that the sooner the bid deadline was determined the sooner they would reach a final agreement. Moreover, the British government prefers a quick sale of the club because of the complicated situation they are facing now after the sanctions imposed on Abramovich.

At first, Abramovich wanted his club to be bought with a tag of close to £3 billion or equivalent to Rp60 trillion. But that number continues to move up and down among fans, the latest report says the highest selling price for the Blues is now at IDR 56.7 trillion and that will continue to change until the final on April 11.
