JAKARTA – Doctor Sanchez Dalmau confirmed that a new round of double vision problems (diplopia) experienced by Marc Marquez was caused by a terrible accident that occurred at the Mandalika Circuit on Sunday, March 20.

Marc Marquez was unable to race in the second series after experiencing a highside in the warm-up session. He was diagnosed with a concussion at the time before the latest verdict confirmed a relapse of his diplopia.

"The neuro-ophthalmological evaluation carried out on Marc Márquez on Monday following the head injury that occurred at the Indonesian Grand Prix, showed a new episode of diplopia caused by a recurrence of the fourth right nerve palsy," said Sanchez, as quoted by Crash.

Marquez has undergone all Spanish medical examinations to evaluate all bruising. From the examination, the results of a brain MRI confirmed that the six-time MotoGP world champion had no other injuries.

Luckily for Marquez because the diplopia he suffered this time was not as bad as he had experienced before. However, he still has to undergo intensive care.

"After this examination, it was initially decided to follow conservative treatment with periodic medical tests. Next week, Marc Márquez will undergo a new examination to evaluate the evolution of the injury and predict the approximate recovery period for returning to competition," said Sanchez.

This problem makes Marquez in danger of not being able to follow the next two MotoGP series, namely Argentina and Americans. The Argentine series will take place on April 2-4, while the American series will take place on April 8-10.
