West Ham Defender Kurt Zouma To Be Sued In Court For Pet Cat Molestation

JAKARTA - West Ham defender Kurt Zouma will face serious charges for his disgraceful act of molesting a pet cat. Reportedly, this case will soon be brought to court.

Kurt Zouma and his brother Yoan, are considered to have violated the Animal Protection Act in England. Previously, Zouma and Yoan had to pay a large fine.

After the incident, the British public was furious with both of them. The UK's Animal Protection Agency (RSPCA) immediately adopted two of Kurt Zouma's cats, 27.

They also said they would take action against the soccer players.

"Following a full and thorough investigation, we have started the prosecution process against Kurt Zouma and Yoan Zouma under the Animal Protection Act," the RSPCA said in a statement.

"Both cats are currently being treated by the RSPCA and we will continue to release more information once the court date is confirmed," the statement continued.

As a result of this case, Yoan, who plays for non-league team Dagenham and Redbridge, has been suspended since February. The club is also aware of the RSPCA's trajectory that would sue Yoan Zouma under the 2006 Animal Protection Act.

The club said it reserves the right to take further action "if it deems necessary" after the conclusion of the litigation.

Meanwhile, Zouma has still been given the opportunity by West Ham manager David Moyes to keep playing, despite calls for tougher action against him.

However, over this incident, centre-back Kurt was fined the "maximum possible amount" by the English Premier League club and potentially forfeited his contract with jersey giant Adidas.

Hundreds of thousands of people signed an online petition calling for him to be brought to justice and club sponsors expressed displeasure with the content of the video.

The centre-back was booed by the audience, including a number of The Hammers fans.
