JAKARTA — Mandalika SAG Racing Team Indonesia has plans to prepare a surprise on the visual appearance of the motorbike for their two riders at the MotoGP 2022 Grand Prix Mandalika on March 18-20.

The team which is a collaboration between Stop and Go and Mandalika Racing Team Indonesia (MRTI) will compete with other teams in this second Moto2 series. They were reinforced by two foreign riders, namely Bo Bendsneyder (Netherlands) and Gabriel Rodrigo (Argentina).

The CEO of Mandalika SAG Racing Team Indonesia, Rapsel Ali, said that the motorbikes for the two racers will appear with different visuals at Mandalika later. However, he deliberately kept a secret what kind of display the team prepared.

"I invite all of us to watch the exciting Moto2 fight at Mandalika on March 20, 2022. Please support Mandalika SAG Racing Team Indonesia," said Ali in a statement received by VOI, Wednesday.

Bendsneyder and Rodrigo were among the 20 racers who received an invitation from President Joko Widodo to attend the Merdeka Palace. After being entertained at the Palace, the two racers paraded with 18 other racers towards the Hotel Indonesia roundabout.

Director of Strategic Communication and Business Development of Mandalika Racing Team Indonesia Charles Bonar Sirait said that Bensneyder and Rodrigo were very happy and proud to be received directly by the President. The invitation also made his team more optimistic about getting the best results in Mandalika later.

"President Joko Widodo has given his support to the Mandalika SAG Racing Team Indonesia drivers, so don't waste this good opportunity. The Indonesian people hope that the best results can be contributed by Bo Bensneyder and Gabriel Rodrigo at Mandalika," said Charles.

Bendsneyder and Rodrigo failed to score points when they played in Qatar on March 6. In that race, Bendsneyder, who has Indonesian ancestry, finished 19th or dropped two places after starting the race from P17.

Meanwhile, his team-mate, Rodrigo, finished the race in 21st place after starting from 22nd position. The failure certainly did not want to be repeated again by the two riders when they went down at the "cage" later.
